Melanie L. Petro, M.D.

Dr. Melanie L. Petro is a board-certified otolaryngologist currently performing cosmetic surgery and other spa services at her private practice in Vestavia Hills, Alabama.

Dr. Petro received her medical degree from the University of Mississippi Medical Center, and completed her surgical internship and otolaryngology residency training there as well, where she was awarded Resident Teacher of the Year. Dr. Petro then furthered her training by completing a fellowship in comprehensive cosmetic surgery and at the McCollough Plastic Surgery Clinic with Stephen E. Metzinger, M.D., FACS. Since completing her surgical training, Dr. Petro has continued her education through additional training courses across the country.

In addition to her practice experience, Dr. Petro is also involved with several professional organizations. She is a Fellow of the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery, a member of the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, and the American Society for Laser Medicine and Surgery, Inc. Her work has appeared in several different publications, research findings and presentations throughout her practice history.
