As in the tumescent liposuction procedure, a tumescent fluid comprising lidocaine, an anesthetic, and epinephrine is injected into the areas to be treated. Next, your cosmetic surgeon will apply the probe so that ultrasound waves can begin to emulsify the fat. Once the area has been sufficiently treated, your surgeon will return to the area with the suction device to gently remove the now liquefied fat.
