BBL
Filtered BroadBand Light targets selected pigment and vessels.
First in Alabama. Here at PETRO.
Extraordinary light.
Intelligently delivered.
For spots, redness and the way your skin reflects light. Dr. Petro pairs BroadBand Light with motion-tracking technology that coordinates where each pulse lands.

The evolution
Filtered BroadBand Light targets selected pigment and vessels.
High Energy Rapid Output adds faster delivery, enhanced cooling and more peak power.
Motion tracking and Intelligent Control coordinate pulse placement across the skin.
Inside the intelligence
Choose a concern or a filter. Watch where the light is absorbed, what changes beneath the surface and what you may notice afterward.
Skin Positioning System
The overhead sensor follows the handpiece in three-dimensional space. It measures where the handpiece is, how it is oriented and how quickly it moves.
Six degrees of freedom: movement along three axes, plus roll, pitch and yaw.
Brown spots / Melanin
Melanin gives skin its color. A sun spot contains a more concentrated patch of it near the surface.
What you may noticeA brown spot before treatment.
The plan is personal
Dr. Petro selects the filter, settings and treatment area for your skin. HEROic coordinates the delivery. The cooled sapphire window helps keep the surface comfortable.
The Sciton filter collection
These are the actual interchangeable filters. Each selects a band of light; the tissue that absorbs it determines the response. Choose a number to follow that response beneath your skin.

The number describes a filter’s wavelength selection, not its strength. 532+ selects 500–650 nm. ST identifies the SkinTyte filters. 640S is the separate SkinSmooth filter and program; it is not pictured in this collection. Dr. Petro chooses the filter, energy, timing and cooling for your skin.

The arm supports the Skin Positioning System sensor. It tracks the handpiece’s location and orientation in three dimensions as Dr. Petro moves across your skin. It does not treat the skin itself.
Intelligent Control processes that motion information. Autodynamic Pulsing coordinates pulse placement as speed, direction and angle change, with the aim of even coverage over flat and curved areas.
The cooled sapphire window meets your skin as light passes through it. Surface cooling and coordinated delivery work together; Dr. Petro still chooses the filter, treatment area and settings.
The system tracks movement forward and back, side to side, and up and down, plus rotation around those three axes. This lets it respond to how the handpiece actually moves over a cheek, forehead or body contour. The advance from HERO to HEROic is this motion-aware coordination, added to HERO’s rapid delivery and cooling.
Selected freckles and sun spots, diffuse redness, visible small vessels and certain benign red lesions such as cherry angiomas. Different protocols can address acne, unwanted hair or skin quality. A changing or unexplained spot needs assessment before cosmetic treatment.
Melanin absorbs selected light and converts it to heat. Treated spots can darken before the superficial pigment sheds over the following days. Spot clearance is gradual; BBL does not erase the skin’s tendency to make pigment or replace sun protection.
Hemoglobin absorbs selected light. The resulting heat affects the targeted vessel; successful treatment is followed by gradual clearance and reduced visibility. Vessel size, depth and background skin color influence the plan.
BBL produces a broad spectrum. A conventional cutoff filter excludes shorter wavelengths and transmits a range above its cutoff. A narrow-band filter such as 532+ selects a more specific band. The cartridge’s color identifies the filter; it is not a literal picture of light traveling through your skin.
Temporary warmth and redness are common. Pigmented areas may look darker or speckled before shedding, and vascular responses can include temporary swelling or discoloration. Dr. Petro explains the expected response for your selected filters and areas.
They do different jobs. BBL targets selected pigment and vessels; MOXI creates superficial thermal zones for renewal of tone and texture. A combined plan can address both when it fits your skin and recovery schedule.

When color and texture both matter
BBL targets selected pigment and vessels. MOXI adds fractional surface renewal. Dr. Petro decides whether the two belong in the same visit.
